Over the New Year Brickwall had the opportunity to help with the office move of a prominent local Kansas City business. When they moved they also decided they were going to upgrade there phone systems. I wanted to highlight a few items that will always help in the transition.
The First and most important thing to do is communicate. Everyone involved should be communicating with each other as well as whomever is in charge. This was one of the problems we ran into, When the phone system has certain requirements and those don't get communicated to those responsible for those requirements you can have many headaches.
Second be the expert, make sure you do some research on your own before you just take peoples word and expertise at face value. Even though we weren't responsible for the phones we read the installation manual. Which thanks to us taking the initiative we were able to see multiple issues with the setup an come to a satisfactory resolution.
Third, not to sound cliché, but always plan for the worse. Make sure you allot extra time for problems and issues, because there will all ways be some.
