The Leawood Chamber
Submitted by cedwards on Mon, 01/09/2012 - 18:23Brickwall Security joined the Leawood Chamber of Commerce in late 2011. Our team felt is the was the "biggest bang for our buck". In fact our membership was practically paid for by the time we wrote the check. Joining a Chamber these days seems to be a hit or miss as far as the ROI, as there are so many. However, if you feel comfortable in the Chamber functions you attend, while getting a feel for the type of clientele within the prospective Chamber, that is half the battle. The more comfortable you are at the networking events, you more you will network and regularly attend.
Xbox 360 Gets a new Look and Feel!!!
Submitted by jboomer on Wed, 12/07/2011 - 07:19The long awaited Xbox dashboard update is here. All I have to say is "wow". Not only has Microsoft doubled down on it's use of the MetroUI and the motion based Kinect, but they filled this update with more features than we could have hoped for. From a features perspective; they have added a search for content that is of course powered by "bing". They have also added cloud storage for games...it's not full SkyDrive capable yet and only boasts a whopping 512 Mb but it is a step in the right direction.
Microsoft's strategy for computing in 2012
Submitted by jboomer on Mon, 11/21/2011 - 03:44Well with Microsoft numbers out for this quarter, it is no surprise that Bing (Microsofts' search engine) is loosing the company fistfull after fistfull of money, with no sign of stopping. Even with Yahoo teaming up this year, it has done little to over through Googles place at the top of the search engine list. So why is Microsoft still pooring money into this sinking ship?

High Five Sprint
Submitted by wgray on Fri, 03/25/2011 - 16:25HTC & Sprint have done it again! Sprint has 2 new fabulous new products due to launch this summer; EVO 3D and EVO VIEW Tablet.
The EVO 3D is very similar to the HTC EVO 4G in both size, weight and function. The EVO 3D runs a newer operating system, is going to be much faster. The EVO 3D’s biggest accomplishment though is its dual 5 megapixel cameras and awesome glasses free 3D screen.
The EVO VIEW is set to be the fastest tablet on the market in 2011. The 1.5 GHz processor and 1GB RAM will make any task a breeze. The new Android 3.0 honeycomb also has a many new features.
AT&T to Cap Landline Data
Submitted by wgray on Mon, 03/14/2011 - 14:54So it was confirmed yesterday that AT&T will put a cap on both DSL and AT&T U-Verse customers. The cap is reported to be 150 GB for DSL customers and 250 GB for U-Verse. How is this going to affect the average home user? AT&T reports that it will affect less than 2 % of total customers.
Things to watch out for when implementing a new system.

Sprint's Latest R&D Blunder
Submitted by wgray on Wed, 02/09/2011 - 20:42For the past couple of months we have been awaiting an "industry first" from sprint. During that time there have been many rumors as to what the latest gadget would be. I heard of a glasses free 3D phone from LG, or an iPhone for Sprint network. Well, Monday came and Dan Hesse got on stage to announce the new Kyocera Echo. A phone that has two screens and that can act as a tablet. FANTASTIC! Now I don’t have to spend $600 for a galaxy tab! Think again!
